About Me - Lynne Ruffin - REALTOR

Hi,

I’m Lynne Ruffin.  I am a native of the Hampton Roads area.  It has been my permanent home all my life.  Graduate of Maury High School in Norfolk, Virginia; Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia; Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina; Freshman year completed at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi.  

I live in the Ballentine neighborhood.  It is a neighborhood that has seen a lot of positive growth in recent years.  Norfolk has an aging population and most of the growth has been through in-fill housing.

My favorite restaurant is Macaroni Grill in the Pembroke area of Virginia Beach.  And my favorite pastime is chilling at the beach during the warm months.

I love to see everyone win.  One thing I learned this area has a lot of opportunity when it comes to education.  I think it would be safe to say in general Virginia is one of the education hubs of the world.  The ones who go after it make it.  I was blessed to have gotten letters of interest from some top universities when I was in school.  I took a full academic scholarship to Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi my first year in college and was a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.  My second year in college I attended Saint Augustine’s College in Raleigh, North Carolina.  My second degree was attained from Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia.

My favorite reading material is self-improvement books, motivational material.  I truly believe a word of encouragement can make the difference in someone giving up or going on.  Positive energy seems to attract positive energy and negative energy drains me.  I always encourage my client to think positive.  Mindset is half the battle – claim your victory!  Most anything is a process and staying positive through the whole process is key.

My forte is automating business processes.  I understand how busy and hectic work schedules can be.  I am very accommodating when scheduling appointements to see property.  I do schedule weekend and evening appointments.  In fact, they work best for me.  I volunteer asa  caretaker to run small errands and assist with helping elderly disabled people I am close to with getting to doctor appointments. 

One of the cutest things ever is when my youngest granddaughter tells people she doesn’t know how but her grandmother is good with computers...lol  I just love how honest children are.  They don’t know grandma took courses like PASCAL, COBOL, FORTRAN when she was in college on a monochrome screen.  Could you imagine children with all they have been exposed to as far as technology working on a monochrome screen?  It would be like a punishment.  All they are accustomed to is WYSIWIG (What you see is what you get).  Hello world!...lol.  I appreciate the colors, fonts, graphics, and everything else we can display on a page and even animate it nowadays.
